Suniso® SL100 is a fully synthetic polyol ester (POE) refrigeration lubricant from Petro-Canada Lubricants, supplied here as the ISO VG 100 grade of the Suniso SL range. Its published kinematic viscosity at 40 °C is 100.0 cSt, which places it inside the ISO VG 100 band of 90-110 cSt defined in ISO 3448.
It is intended for compressors running HFC refrigerants where a polyol ester is required, and it is a different product from the mineral-oil Suniso grades (3GS, 4GS, 5GS). Everything on this page — the viscosity figures, the density, the flash and pour points, the test methods — is taken from the manufacturer's own data sheet, and the source is named against every line.
QISHANR is a refrigeration oil manufacturer and wholesale supplier, and this grade is supplied in bulk to distributors, HVACR service companies and compressor OEMs worldwide.
The commercial side of this grade is straightforward, and it is stated here in full rather than left to be discovered at the quotation stage. The viscosity class, the packing, the terms and the paperwork are all fixed before an order is placed, so that the price you receive matches the product you asked for. This grade is supplied wholesale and in bulk — to distributors, HVACR service companies, compressor OEMs and private-label buyers — as well as in single packs and sample quantities.
| Item | What we offer |
|---|---|
| Minimum order quantity | No fixed figure. We confirm the minimum per order against the grade and the pack size, rather than applying one number to every product. |
| Payment terms | Any commonly used payment method — T/T, L/C, PayPal and every other option — confirmed with the order |
| Price terms | Any Incoterms 2020 term — EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, DDP and every other rule — quoted against your destination port |
| Supply ability | 1,200 pieces per year on this grade, at our blending plant in Foshan — this is the figure for the 100.0 cSt POE we manufacture, not the annual capacity of the plant |
| Origin | Belgium for the original Suniso product, or an equivalent manufactured at our own plant in Foshan, China |
| Who buys this grade | Distributors and resellers who stock refrigeration oil, HVACR and refrigeration service companies, compressor OEMs filling new equipment, and buyers who need private-label or own-brand packing. Wholesale and bulk orders are the norm; trial and sample quantities are also supplied. |
| Payment | Any commonly used payment method — T/T, L/C, PayPal and every other option — confirmed with the order |
| Pack size | Confirmed at quotation. Custom pack formats are available as a quotation item. |
| Lead time | Confirmed with the quotation, quoted from the date the order and the specification are agreed |
| Documents with quotation | Technical data sheet and safety data sheet |
| Documents with shipment | Batch certificate of analysis, plus certificate of origin and any transport documents the destination requires |
| Sample | Available on request; the sample is quoted on the same terms as a full order |
Supply ability is stated for this grade rather than for the plant as a whole. It is not the annual capacity of the blending plant.
The line between one viscosity class and the next is drawn by the compressor manufacturer, not by the oil supplier. If the nameplate or the manual names a grade, that grade is the one to match.
A refrigeration lubricant is rarely bought on its own. The same purchase usually has to cover the other compressor oils in the plant, the refrigerant, and the service consumables — and buyers prefer one supplier who can quote the whole list rather than four who each quote a part of it.
Below is what we can quote alongside Suniso SL100. Where a category is wide, we would rather confirm the exact grade against your equipment than offer a list of numbers.
| What you need | What we can quote |
|---|---|
| Other viscosity grades in the same line | The Suniso SL range runs from SL 22 to SL 220. If your nearest grade is the ISO VG 68 or the ISO VG 100 rather than this one, the same quotation can cover it. |
| Mineral-oil grades | Where the system still runs on mineral oil, the Suniso GS grades (3GS, 4GS, 5GS) and our own QISHANR 3GS/4GS/5GS equivalents. |
| PAG and other synthetic types | Polyalkylene glycol (PAG) and alkylbenzene grades, where the refrigerant or the compressor maker calls for them rather than a POE. |
| Refrigerants | HFC, HCFC, HFO, HC and natural refrigerants, quoted on the same order as the oil. |
| Service consumables | Vacuum pump oil, and the filters and drier cores that go with a system charge. |
| Private label and OEM | Own-brand packing, your label and your part number, produced to the same specification. |
Send the equipment model and the refrigerant and we will come back with the grades that fit, rather than a list you have to filter yourself.
Grade confirmation comes before pricing, because the SL range is sold in seven viscosity classes that look alike on a quotation but are not interchangeable in a system.
If you already know the grade and only need a price, send the quantity, the pack size and the destination and we will quote directly. The technical questions only need answering where the grade is still open.

The test method column is reproduced from the manufacturer's data sheet. Where the manufacturer publishes a value against a named method, the number and the method belong together — a figure quoted without its method cannot be checked against another supplier's.
A viscosity class is a band, not a single number, and the figures below show what each published value controls in a running system. This is the part of the data sheet a maintenance engineer actually has to reason with.
| Parameter | Value for Suniso SL100 | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Kinematic viscosity at 40 °C | 100.0 cSt — inside the ISO VG 100 band of 90-110 cSt | The film thickness in the bearings and the load the oil places on the compressor. This is the figure a replacement has to match, and it is the one that fixes the grade. |
| Kinematic viscosity at 100 °C | 10.9 cSt | How much the film thins at operating temperature. The smaller the drop from the 40 °C figure, the better the film holds; the manufacturer does not publish a viscosity index for this range, so the two figures are given as they stand rather than reduced to a single number. |
| Density at 15 °C | 0.966 kg/L | How the oil is measured and invoiced by volume, and how a charge weight converts to a volume. It is also the figure that shows this is a polyol ester rather than a mineral grade, since the SL fluids are denser than the naphthenic oils. |
| Pour point | −33 °C | The cold end of the working window. Below this the oil stops flowing, so it is the figure that decides whether the grade suits a low-temperature circuit. |
| Flash point | 270 °C | The hot end of the working window and a rough measure of how the oil behaves at the discharge valve. |
| Moisture content | <100 ppm | How dry the oil is as supplied. A polyol ester absorbs moisture in service, so the as-supplied figure is the baseline the system has to stay near. |
Do not step to a heavier class to solve a wear problem without checking the compressor first. In most cases the cause is refrigerant migration, a faulty expansion valve or an oil-return problem, and a heavier oil hides it instead of fixing it.
The Suniso SL range is one polyol ester lubricant offered across seven viscosity classes, from SL 22 to SL 220. Every figure below is from the same manufacturer's table, so the grades can be compared on the same basis rather than across two different sources.
| Grade | Viscosity at 40 °C | Viscosity at 100 °C | Density at 15 °C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suniso SL 22 | 23.5 cSt | 4.4 cSt | 0.993 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 32 | 32.0 cSt | 5.6 cSt | 0.993 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 46 | 46.1 cSt | 6.9 cSt | 0.981 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 68 | 65.0 cSt | 8.3 cSt | 0.973 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 100 (this product) | 100.0 cSt | 10.9 cSt | 0.966 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 170 | 167.8 cSt | 15.3 cSt | 0.969 kg/L |
| Suniso SL 220 | 217.0 cSt | 17.9 cSt | 0.966 kg/L |
The values are reproduced from the Suniso SL technical data sheet (Petro-Canada Lubricants, IM-8232E, 2024.07). Note that several grades share a published density and are distinguished by their viscosity rather than by density alone.
If this grade is not the one you need, the rows below show where it sits against the other refrigeration lubricants we supply, so that a substitution can be checked against published figures rather than against a brand claim.
| Brand | Grade | Viscosity at 40 °C | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qishanr | POE refrigeration oil | 32 cSt, our QSL-100H | Our own equivalent to this viscosity class, manufactured in Foshan, China |
| Petro-Canada / Suniso | Suniso SL range | 23.5 to 217.0 cSt | The full POE line; SL100 is one of the seven grades within it |
| SUNOCO | Sunice SL series | 10 to 320 cSt | The other major POE refrigeration line we supply |
A polyol ester and a mineral oil are not interchangeable even at the same viscosity. If the system was built for one, the other is not a drop-in replacement however close the 40 °C figures look.
Several suppliers publish a 40 °C figure for this grade without saying where it came from. We have taken every number on this page from the manufacturer's own technical data sheet and named the document, so that any figure can be checked line by line against the source.
The difference matters in practice. A viscosity quoted without its test method or its temperature cannot be compared with another supplier's figure, and a density quoted without its reference temperature is not a value at all.
The published density of Suniso SL100 at 15 °C is 0.966 kg/L. That is noticeably higher than a naphthenic mineral refrigeration oil, which typically sits near 0.90 — and the gap is a useful check on what has actually been supplied.
It also means the oil is invoiced and charged by volume at a weight that follows from that density. Where a system charge is specified by weight, the conversion is against this figure.
A polyol ester is chosen where the refrigerant will not carry a mineral oil around the circuit. With HFC refrigerants the mineral oil separates and collects in the evaporator instead of returning to the compressor, and the bearings are starved of lubricant while the system still appears to run normally.
A POE stays miscible with the refrigerant across the working temperature range, so the oil returns with the gas. That is the reason the base is specified in the first place, and it is the reason the two bases cannot be mixed in service.
We supply Suniso SL100 alongside an equivalent grade we manufacture ourselves, and we are a refrigeration lubricant supplier rather than a general trader. Our own blending plant in Foshan, Guangdong produces QISHANR refrigeration oils, and the same plant can produce a POE to this specification under an OEM or private-label arrangement.
Because we both trade and manufacture, a quotation can be built around whichever route suits the order — the branded product where the specification names it, and an equivalent where the buyer is free to choose.
Every shipment goes out with a batch certificate of analysis, and the technical and safety data sheets are issued with the quotation so the specification can be checked before the order is placed. Certificate of origin and transport documents are provided for the destination.
Our own manufacturing is covered by certification from major compressor manufacturers and by SGS testing, and the export paperwork for the European market — CE, certificate of origin, MSDS and transport assessment — is part of the standard service.
The grade is not difficult to describe, but it is easy to get wrong. A 100.0 cSt POE and a 65.0 cSt POE are sold under near-identical descriptions, and the difference only shows up after the system is charged.
We confirm the grade against your equipment before quoting, so the figure that arrives is the figure the compressor needs. Where the grade is still open, the technical data sheet is sent with the quotation rather than after the order.
A: It is a synthetic oil. Suniso SL100 is a polyol ester (POE), which is a fully synthetic base. The mineral-oil Suniso grades are the GS series — 3GS, 4GS and 5GS — which are a separate product line with different properties and different applications.
A: The manufacturer publishes 100.0 cSt at 40 °C and 10.9 cSt at 100 °C, measured by ASTM D445. The 40 °C figure places it inside the ISO VG 100 band of 90-110 cSt in ISO 3448, which is why the grade carries the ISO VG 100 class.
A: Any POE refrigeration oil at this viscosity is a comparison to make on published figures rather than on brand. Our own QSL-100H is manufactured to this viscosity class, and the other major POE line we supply is the SUNOCO Sunice SL series. A substitution should be checked against the compressor manufacturer's own requirement, because the viscosity is only one of the properties that has to match.
A: The manufacturer lists compatibility with HFC refrigerants, including R-125, R-134a, R-143a, R-152a, R-404A, R-407C, R-410A and R-507A. It is intended for refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems running chlorine-free refrigerants.
A: No. A polyol ester and a mineral oil are not miscible in the way the system requires, and mixing them defeats the reason the POE was specified. If a system is converted between bases, the change is made as a planned conversion with the compressor manufacturer's procedure, not by topping up.
A: −33 °C, measured by ASTM D5950. This is the cold end of the working window: below it the oil stops flowing, so it is the figure that decides whether the grade suits a low-temperature circuit.
A: The technical data sheet and the safety data sheet are issued with the quotation. Each shipment carries a batch certificate of analysis, and certificate of origin and transport documents are provided for the destination. MSDS and a transport assessment for export are part of the standard service.
A: Any commonly used payment method is accepted, including T/T, L/C and PayPal. Price terms can be quoted on any Incoterms 2020 term, including EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF and DDP.
A: There is no fixed minimum figure. The minimum is confirmed per order against the grade and the pack size, because the same quantity is not the practical minimum for every product.
Every figure on this page is taken from a published document rather than from a marketing claim. The table lists the standards and the sources the data is drawn from.
| Source | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Petro-Canada Lubricants — Suniso SL technical data sheet, IM-8232E (2024.07) | The manufacturer's published specification for this grade: the density at 15 °C, the viscosity at 40 °C and 100 °C, the moisture content, the flash point, the pour point and the acid value used in the table above, each against its ASTM test method. It is also the source for the HFC refrigerant compatibility list, the compressor types and the DIN 51503 KD and ISO 6743-3 ISO-L-DRD specifications. |
| ISO 3448:1992 — Industrial liquid lubricants — ISO viscosity classification | The standard that defines the viscosity bands used to place 100.0 cSt at 40 °C inside the ISO VG 100 class. The band boundaries quoted on this page (90-110 cSt) come from that classification. |
| Petro-Canada Lubricants — Suniso SL technical data sheet (second copy, identical file) | A second published copy of the same data sheet, held here so that the figures quoted on this page can be checked even if one host becomes unavailable. |
Where a value is published by the manufacturer against a named test method, both the value and the method are reproduced here. A figure quoted without its method cannot be checked against another supplier's number, which is why the method column is kept on the table rather than dropped.
This oil is manufactured and supplied by Guangzhou Qishanr Technologies Co., Ltd., trading as the brand QISHANR. The company is based in Foshan, Guangdong, adjacent to Guangzhou Port, and has been producing lubricants for more than 10 years from its own blending plant. That plant runs at an annual capacity of 6,000 tonnes, which is what allows us to hold stock on the grades we list and quote firm lead times rather than promising on behalf of a third party.
Refrigeration oils are the core of the business, but they are not the whole plant. The same lines produce general industrial lubricants, so a mixed enquiry that covers both refrigeration oils and ordinary industrial grades can be quoted, packed and shipped together instead of being split across suppliers.
This is not the full range. Specialised ester base oils and lubricant additives are produced in-house as well, which is the reason the synthetic ester grades can be specified to a target rather than bought off a shelf. If the grade you need is not listed above, send the specification or the product you are replacing and we will confirm whether we produce it.
Long-term partners get pricing that reflects a stable manufacturing base rather than a trading margin, and the same technical contact stays with the account from grade selection through to repeat orders.
Suniso SL100 is a 100.0 cSt polyol ester, so a quotation depends on the grade, the pack size and the destination rather than on a list price. Send the compressor model and the refrigerant and we will confirm the grade and return the price, the lead time and the data sheets together.
